m wm --- HE {m wc: — ——if1 5E ■ ■ First Year of Operation Exceeds Projections Dear PHP Physicians, Whatadiffcrenceayearmakes! HadI known then what I know now ... This time last year, we were negotiating with a management company, had no staff, no office and look at us now. Fully operational and growing fester than all projections. At the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology held recently in Las Vegas, Nevada, I had the privilege of participating on a panel discussing HMO's. Over 450 physicians attended and our Plan was of great interest because it is phwuian sponsored and open access. We're making a name for ourselves not just in Guilford County but nationally as Going forward, let's keep the lines of communication open and continue to iron out the "bugs" lhat are a part of any new business. We've had a fentastic first year and I look for 1986 to build on this solid foundation. Thanks each of you. _ Sdsgfdr, Jjrm PHP Scorecard As of December 15th Enrolled Members 4,915 Physician Providers 379 Pharmacy Providers 84 As wc reflect on the year coming to a close, we've got great reason to feel thankful and proud. We are especially grateful for the tremendous support from the physicians in Guilford County, wc arc also thankful to the business community as Ihey have warmly welcomed PHP. These two fectors more than anything else account for our success in 1985. By year end, PHP's enrollment will exceed the 5000 mark! As we look ahead to 1986, we anticipate continued rapid growth. We arc gearing up to attain a year end enrollment in Guilford County of over 25,000 members. This growth will come about through continued aggressive marketing efforts; the introduction of new products, i.e.. a Small Group/ Individual Plan and a Medicare Supplement; and in pursuing the State's bid to offer HMO coverage to its employees. 1986 will bring new challenges in the form of: • Competition — We expect new entrants to appear on the local scene. • Networking — Wc need to grow to ensure long term success. •Service/Retention —The PHP staff will work diligently to ensure on-going customer and provider satisfaction. Many thanks to you for making PHP a successful reality, and I look forward eagerly to working with each of you in the coming Marketing Update New companies enrolled in PHP since November 15 include: • Linda's Beauty Salon • Dillard Paper • Austin-Berry hill Fabricators, Inc, • M.B.
