Dave Kingdon, Project Leader,
Information Systems, and wife, Tricia
Kingdon, Director, Medical Records,
The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital,
first learned of son Ross' Down
Syndrome just minutes after he was
born at The Women's Hospital of
Greensboro.
Kingdon remembers one of the
first thoughts that came to her mind
wasn't how they were going to care for
him, but who would care for him after
she and her husband were gone. Since
that time, a younger sister, Kelly, and
eight cousins have shown an interest in
seeing to Ross' needs. Dave and Tricia
have also worked with other parents
and with the Association for Retarded
Citizens of Greensboro to ensure Ross
and other children like him will be
well cared for.
Dave Kingdon, in search of some
explanations and more knowledge on
how to create the best choices and
opportunities for Ross, quickly learned
all he could about the birth defect.
That search led Dave to several
resources including ARC, a United
