VOL. 5, NO. 12 APRIL 5,1980 POLITICIANS BEWARE' GREENSBORO, N.C.-March 25, 1980, District Attorney Mike Schlosser, in his desperate attempt to indict the members and supporters of the Communist Worker^ Party, forgot to wear his white sheet as he rushed to testify in support of the Klan/Nazi murderers of the CWP 5. Earlier, the Klan/Nazis defendants had brought a motion to dismiss all charges stemming from the murders of the CWP 5 on Nov. 3. The notorious motion was based on the theory of "selective prosecution" which charged that prosecutor Schotosser was unconstitutionally discriminating against the Klan/ Nazis since no indictment had been brought against CWP members and _ friends. _/ -j j >.;.'..._•;_ '. ^ ' As Schtossei suddenly snaked to the witness stand, the dozen or so reporters wejre stunned by this highly unusual happening. As one reporter put it, "in 20 yeirs of coming to the courts, I have never heard of a prosecutor voluntarily testifying in a hearing of a defendant's motion." True to the nature of this Klan supporter, Schlosser stated that he has "found reason to seek indictment on some Communist members but was awaiting the return of evidence from the Federal Bureau of Investigation ."{New York Times, March 26,1980). From the very beginning, Schlosser has made clear through his statements and actions that he plans to indict Nelson and other anti-Klan demonstrators, blaming them for the murders of their own comrades. Greensboro Daily News as saying that althought many Greensboro residents were "embarrassed" that the killings happened in Greensboro, "perhaps an even larger part of the community finds as SBOR03 WILL BE FREE!
