              Dear Friend,
My husband Nelson wrote this Letter to the Editor
moments before entering Guilford County Jail Wednesday.
I urge you to read it and take up recommendations on
the back of the leaflet.  The girls and I are very
concerned about his health and safety while jailed
in Sheriff Gibson's notorious jail.  I am asking July 29,1981
everyone who can to join me on Wednesday, August 5th
in front of the jail for a PEACEFUL WATCH FOR
NELSON'S SAFETY.  Nelson has taken his stand for
justice in Greensboro. We must now take ours.

Dear Editor,
I   am   in  jail   as   a  political   captive.   I  will   consume  only water  during  the
entire  period  I  am   in  jail  to  protest  being  held  as  a  political   prisoner  and  to
demand full  punishment for all  government  conspirators  and  the  Klan  and   Nazis
for  their  crimes  on   November  3,   1979.
The   U.S.   government  conspired with the  Klan   and  Nazis to  assassinate
CWP  leaders on   Nov.   3,1979.   Five  people were  murdered on   that  day.   All   the
Klan  and   Nazis  seen  murdering   my friends  and  co-workers    have  been  freed of
any wrong-doing   by the  court.   Known government  agents who participated  in
planning   and  executing   the  murders  have  never appeared  in  court  —not even
as witnesses!    Now  I   have  been  forced  into jail  once  again  as  part of a huge
and  continuing   cover-up.
The  state  of North Carolina hauled  me  into  court to   raise  my  bail  from
$15,000 to  $115,000.   In  fact,   I  was  held  in jail  on  $100,000 until  a  Black judge,
Elrita Alexandei—Ralston,   allowed  me  to  leave on  my own   recognizance.   From
$100,000 to  nothing.   That  alone  shows the  essence  of what the  state  is  doing.
I   have  been  criminally charged with  six  separate   counts  directly or  indirectly   related  to the   Nov.   3rd  murders.   These  charges  have  been   so  completely without basis,   that the  court  has  been forced to find  me not  guilty or
throw the  charges out  in  order to  save  face.   It  is  primarily because of the
political  work  and  exposure  of the  government  by  the CWP  and thousands  of
other     people  throughout  the  country  that  I   and  other CWP   members   and
friends  have  not  been  killed or given  long jail   sentences.   I  am thoroughly
convinced  of this.
The   reason  for the  criminal  charges  by the  government  has been  to   repress
me,   to  slander and  discredit  me.   They  have  been  calculated to  present  me
and the  CWP  as   "terrorist crazies  and  hatemongers."   Such tactics  lay the
basis  for further attacks.   This vicious  campaign  is  meant to  confuse  people
and  block  the truth  about, the government assassinations  and  about why all  of
us   are  catching  so  much  hell   in the   '80's.
But  no  amount of 'lies  and   distortions will  be  able to  cover up  the truth
about  November 3rd.   Step  by step,   the truth   is  bursting  forth.   The  mountain
of  information     already gathered  and  continuing  to  accumulate   shows  the
conspiracy  between the  government and  the  Klan/Nazis.
